Located at the foot hills of the Vaishnavdevi temple, this 200 room hotel building overlooks a 3 km stunning valley, surrounded by snow peaks. A long driveway leads to the hillock on which the hotel is built. The structure contributes to the varying skyline of Katra.
The design revolves around the orientation of the valley and the temple peak. The building mass is perforated by 2 large sky lit atrium segregating into 2 wings.
The 15m high sloping roof of the lobby ends in a pitch to form the grand entrance porch. The glass faced lifts and cross sectional visual links provide a voluminous unity to the internal spaces.
